Study of the thermal dynamic-mechanic behaviour of polymer based composite reinforced with vegetal fibers

Abstract

In the last years the interest on the vegetal raw material use in the preparation of composites has imporved. Mainly had to the constant growth of price and future raw material scarcity derived from the oil, one strong trend was created in the direction of the raw material use renewed of vegetal origin. These materials find a great diversity of applications in some industrial segments. The presented plan of research aims at to study the vegetal fibre use of different origins in the production of polymeric based composte material. The main objectives are the formation of new materials and with bigger aggregate value aiming at future applications in the sectors automobile and nautical, that already come in recent years demonstrating significant absorptions of these alternative materials. Of specific form, to study new techniques of modification of the surface of vegetal fibres being aimed at to increase the compatibility and the adhesion of the same ones in mixtures with traditional matrices. Finally, to make possible the students to know and to use the technique of DMTA in the characterization of materials. The DMTA equipment will be basic for the present time of the future Scientific Reports of the program in Science of the Materials that was created recently and will have beginning in March of 2009 in the new Campus UFSCar - Sorocaba. In the last years the interest on the vegetal raw material use in the preparation of composites has improved.
