Abstract

Publishers, writers and censorship. Brazilian fiction novels censored between 1968 and 1978.Subject: identify and typify the censorship on works of fiction by national authors during the years of the AI-5 (1968-1978). Objetives:: 1) identify the moment and type of censorship on books; 2) retrace the steps of the censored books to verify which survived and how 3) analyse how they were later edited, how many editions there were, if they are still available on the market, etc…Justification: The first aim of our research – the moment of censorship- enables us to recover a moment f our history and to understand the mechanism of censorship. The second aim will allow us to reflect upon the repercussions of the Censorship Acts twenty years after they were canceled.Methodological Procedures: To attain our first objective we will use: a) Newspapers and magazines; b) The articles od the Diário Oficial;c) varied documents. To attain our second goal we will use libraries. As a means of further information we will record in digital video interviews with authors and editors.Research correlate: description and analisys of the fiction components, epecially terms of transgression and the portraits of the nation.
