Abstract

The Saint-Hilaire Virtual Herbarium Project coordinated by the Instituto de Botânica together with Centro de Referência em Informação Ambiental (CRIA) and the Muséum National d'Historie Naturelle of Paris, aims at making the Saint-Hilaire botanical collection from South America available for scientific and historical queries. This collection will include bibliographic information, fields notes, maps and representative illustrations of the Saint-Hilaire collection plus his herbarium specimes. After analysis by experts, all data and information will be made available for free and public access through an information system management by CRIA and available at the Herbaria of Instituto de Botânica (SP) AND Paris (P).
