Study of fecal contamination dynamic and chlorination use in the water offers, in buckets, for calves kept in a dairy farm shelter

Abstract

The objective of the present study is to evaluate fecal contamination dynamic and chlorination use in the water offers, in buckets, for calves kept in a dairy far shelter. Through the most probably number of fecal coliforms, Escherichia coli and enterococcus determination, mesophillic microorganisms bacterial score and chlorine demand, pH and temperature determination of the water. Thirty calves water specimen, 15 in rainfall period and 15 in dry period, will be analyzed. When the daily one water change is applied, the assessment will be done in 3 moments: T0 (immediately after water place: 03:00 pm), in the next morning (08:00 am) and before the water change (02:55 pm of the next day). And when daily two water changes is applied, the assessment will be done in 4 moments: T0 (immediately after water place: 03:00 pm), before the first water change (in the next morning: 07:55 am), T01 (immediately after water place: 08:00 am) and before the second water change (02:55 pm). All those assessments will be done with and without water chlorine addiction, totalizing 420 water specimens. (AU)
