Abstract

The Laboratory of Experimental Toxicology from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of São Paulo (PS-USP) has studied the pathways of the control of innate inflammatory processes, and therapeutic efficacies of new molecules and pharmaceutical formulations in these processes. Nowadays, two of our projects have lead to the neuroinflammation studies. Nevertheless, we do not have expertise in these fields.For these reasons, we now invite Dr. Egle Solito, from William Harvey Research Institute Barts and The London, to stay during two months at our laboratory. Dr. Solito is an expert in experimental neuroinflammatory and blood-brain-barrier (BBB) studies, and integrates Dr. Mauro Perretti group, investigating the role of Annexin A1 on neuroinflammation and BBB permeability. The Dr. Solito stay in our laboratory will improve technical approaches and strengthen the collaboration of University of São Paulo and the William Harvey Research Institute Barts and The London. It is also important to mention that we have been collaborating with Dr. Perretti in different projects, especially to those linked to glucocorticoids and Annexin A1 control of inflammation. (AU)
