Abstract

The safety and quality of care offered to patients in the health institutions has being a challenge to professional nursing, because not always the work environment offer conditions favorable for the professional practice. The quality of care has being the focus of several international studies, were evidence has showing that autonomy, control over the work environment and colaboration between nurses and physicians favours the professional practice resulting in job satisfaction and better quality of care to patients. This work has the objective to evaluate the impact of professional practice environment and burnout on satisfaction, intention to leave the job and perception of the quality of care by nursing professional. This is a cross-sectional study to be developed in three teaching hospitals in the state of São Paulo. The sample will be composed of professional nursing that developed direct care to patients. For data coleta, it will be used: 1) instrument for characterizing personal, professional and work environment, 2) Brazilian version of the Nursing Work Index-Revised and 3) Burnout inventory of Maslach. For data analysis will be used the SPSSÒ 17.0 for Windows for descriptive analysis and tests to evaluate the variables of the study. (AU)
