Changes in the work relations and organizational contexts: impacts for workers

Abstract

The internationalization of markets, increased competitiveness and technological advancement has led to new organizational designs, flexibility in production processes and labor relations. To understand these relationships it is necessary to analyze the transformations that have occurred in recent decades in labor relations and organizational contexts. This study aims to present systematic data about flexible practices adopted by companies in the service sector in the city of Ribeirão Preto-São Paulo, which has a concentration of formal employment in this sector. Thus, the study intend to investigate how changes in work processes and organizational context, such as, part-time work, temporary work and outsourcing, has affected the workers, their health and well-being, and the organizations. From the results of this study aims to produce knowledge and tools to work in people management, in order to improve the working conditions. (AU)
