Abstract

The visit of Prof. Martin Sommerfeld, a famous researcher in the development of models to describe multiphase flow systems, involves the following activities: 1) presentation of a graduate course on multiphase flow modeling, consisting of theoretical lectures and sessions dedicated to the practical application to systems of interest; 2) advisory to the researchers of the Department involved with multiphase flow systems, with emphasis on: a) atmospheric aerosol dispersion studies; b) studies on the design of equipment for the abatement of particulate matter in atmospheric emissions.
