Abstract

In this study, we intend to evaluate how the flood pulses influence the composition and organization of the tree community in a swamp forest in southeastern Brazil. For this, the relationships between flooding, topography, soil properties and tree species composition are evaluated. Thirty quadrats of 20 x 20 m are distributed along the two transects, according to the environmental conditions. In the plots will be measured and identified tree with CBH e 10 cm. The flooding regime, drainage, topography, texture and soil chemical properties are recorded. The phytosociological data, absolute values and relative dominance, density, frequency and importance value index (IVI), will be obtained by the program FITOPAC II. The Shannon diversity index (H ') diversity and evenness (J') are also estimated and compared to the community and for different groups of quadrats. The floristic similarity, as well as the parameters of density, basal area, species richness and abundance among different groups of quadrats will be evaluated by the method of ordering TWINSPAN. The floristic variation within the sampling area and their correlation with environmental data will be evaluated through analysis ordination (CCA). The data analysis will be performed using the program PC-ORD version 4:38. (AU)
