Abstract

The interest of this research is to analyze the structure of the capacity to innovate and influence on the financial performance and value creation of companies that integrate the transformation sectors of the Brazil and segregated the sugarcane industry. The scope of work meets two expectations: i) provide a longitudinal analysis of innovation efforts by the domestic industry, in order to extend the results of recent work (SANTOS, 2009) and (LAZAROTTI, 2012), and ii) understand the process of innovation in sugarcane industry that gained more importance economic, energy and social being of great relevance to the South-Central Brazil. The materials that will subsidize the research will be taken at the grassroots PINTEC / IBGE, PIA / IBGE and Economática® for the years 2000, 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2011 corresponding editions available PINTEC. The methodological approach is quantitatively from the use of two multivariate techniques that complement each other as instruments of analysis: regression analysis with panel data and structural equation modeling. The prospect lies in the positive relationship between innovation and financial performance and value creation, but with distinct factors of sugarcane industry for the other industrial firms, it is likely that for industry analysis variables related to human capital and R & D are less relevant to national average and that investment in machinery and equipment than those prevailing in performance.
