Abstract

The study of relaxation processes in thin films of conjugated polymers will be studied in this project. The methodologies for these studies will be steady-state photoluminescence and dynamical emission, in the temperature range from 20 K to 400 K. The temperature-dependence of the photophysical properties (zero-phonon energy, full width at the half maximum of the zero-phonon band, the relative intensity of the vibronic bands and the total emission intensity) will be analyzed as a function of the film thickness. The influence of the thickness on the glass transition temperature will be modeled using different approachs. (AU)
