Abstract

This strategy for the allocation of overhead institutional resources focus on three different demands. First, it is proposed to adequate a new research area to mitigate the deficit for working spaces in the unit for the next few years, mainly until a new research building, part of the CEBIMar development plan, is built and ready to use. Second, it is included the acquisition of a new small research boat and general SCUBA equipment, meeting higher safety and reliability standards, to replace older material. Finally, it is proposed to purchase a micro-centrifuge and a unit of water purification to attend general laboratory procedures, which, among other duties, will allow a more rigorous preparation of reagents and calibration of a wide array of instruments measuring aquatic parameters.
