Physiological effects of products on the development of muskmelon plants

Abstract

The aim of this study will be evaluate the effect of applying strobilurin, boscalid and plant growth regulator in muskmelon plants (Cucumis melo var. reticulatus), in greenhouse conditions, aiming to their physiological effects on metabolism and plant development, as well as increased production and fruit quality. The experiment will be conducted in an experimental field which belongs to Faculty of Agronomy (FCA), São Paulo State University (UNESP), Campus Botucatu-SP. The treatments will be: T1-control, T2-azoxystrobin 60 g ha-1, T3-boscalid 75 g ha-1, T4-pyraclostrobin 50 g ha-1, T5-boscalid (37.5 g ha-1) + pyraclostrobin (25 g ha-1), T6 - boscalid + kresoxim-methyl 75 g ha-1 and T7 - IBA + GA3 + Kinetin 375 mg L-1. The treatments applications will be initiated during the seedling phase and continuing after the transplant, with an interval of 7 days between applications into leaves. The effect of the treatments will be evaluated through observations of the following: plant growth, days to start harvest, fruit yield and fruit weight, fruit classification, gas exchanges, fluorometry, leaf age, chlorophyll content, activities of nitrate reductase, peroxidase, catalase, superoxide dismutase and lipid peroxidation, determinations of ethylene levels and nitric oxide, effects on post-harvest and internal fruit quality of muskmelon.
