Pre-slaughter handling, animal welfare and meat quality

Abstract

Prof. Neville Gregory is acknowledge as a world's leading authority on the subject of animal welfare applied to pre-slaughter management and meat quality. This proposal aims to have Prof. Gregory as a visiting professor at FCAV-UNESP, Jaboticabal, where he will be engaged in some of our research projects, besides offering opportunities for students and researchers from other institutions to discuss their ongoing projects. He will also be responsible for delivering classes for graduate students and lectures in other institutions. We also expect, with his visit, to consolidate the fields of Applied Ethology and Animal Welfare at FCAV-UNESP, Jaboticabal campus. (AU)
