Abstract

The text examines the peculiarities of the mechanism of sublimation's operating mode, taking as perspective the vicissitudes suffered by the concept in the course of the Freudian pathway and dilemmas that this pathway allows to enunciating. Because of its incidence mode on the various planes of met psychological fiction, its articulation to the set of defense mechanisms, questions raised by the subjects, which it points at, and the elasticity of its operation, which allows addressing it through a variety of angles, a proposal to analyze sublimation under the idea of field of sublimation is developed. In the balance of the forces that constitute it, in the context of the genesis of the fundamental freudian concepts, the issue of sublimation's insertion is privileged, with emphasis on its intersection with anguish and repression and the consequences of this conceptual network using the second pulsional dualism and the second topography.
