The Southeast Ribeira Belt comprises major tectonic domains limited by significant shear zones. The Coastal Terrane, in the State of São Paulo, is represented by rocks of the Mongaguá Domain and is limited by the sinistral Itariri Shear Zone from the Registro/Curitiba Terrane. The presented research proposal aims to point out the main crustal evolution and consequent petrogenetic characterization of granitic and gneiss-migmatitic rocks of the Coastal Terrane, constituent of the Eastern Domain South part of the Ribeira Belt. To this purpose, will be used as the primary tool the systematic U-Pb and Lu-Hf in zircons, based on petrographic and geochemical studiesThe proposal area for the development of the research project has been object of study of doctorate of the proponent, and several questions still remain open. The area constitutes a tectonic block limited by significant shear zones (sutures) and represents a fundamental area for the understanding of the Brazilian southeast region geotectonic framework, because it offers an opportunity to correlation between the tectonic blocks located further south like Paranaguá and further north, belonging to the Serra do Mar Microplate, correlations that are still open issues. The different minerals in situ techniques that intended to apply in samples of key-areas will allow an improvement of the geochronological and isotopic framework of the area and a better characterization of the lithological units. Consequently, important discussions as the tectonic significance of the Mongaguá Domain in the Coastal Terrane as well as its the correlation with other tectonic domains will be promoted. (AU)
