Abstract

The manipulation of objects is a of the primary activities in the technological development of humanity . The vast majority of everyday or labor products is, at some stage in their life, handled by human hands . There is a great demand for information on the variables involved in the manipulation of objects , both with respect to biomechanical variables , as well as the latest demands of the subjective aspects of use. Different approaches analyze the capabilities and limitations of biomechanical human hands (force , posture , repetition and palmar pressure), in labor activities and in Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) . However, little is known about the distribution of pressure on the human hand and its relation to the subjective aspects of the activity. The aim of this study is to verify the hypothesis that the design influences the distribution of pressure and other variables correlated with subjective perception involved in the use of manual interfaces. The methodological procedures will be based on ethical principles and meet the scientific assumptions. Should involve data collection and experimentation simulated by the healthy adult subjects, with a "Grip VersaTek Wireless" and perception scale (Likert scale). The procedures involve the statistical treatment of the data (p d 0.05) and demonstration and discussion of the results. With this, we hope to obtain a more complete and accurate handling of various manual interfaces , setting new guidelines for the product design, especially hand tools . (AU)
