Abstract The ergonomic design seeks to establish parameters to improve the interface between man and object. This study aims to understand the influence of the symbolic function of objects in perception and biomechanical stress, through the correlation between different approaches - biomechanical and perception. The research will be experimental in nature and 60 subjects will be evaluated (aged between 18-29 years = 20; 30-55 years = 20; over 55 years = 20), by using a torque transducer and other complementary instruments for data collect. The procedures are characterized by simulations of activities by driving manual fruit juicers with different designs, and data analysis should be based on descriptive statistics, correlation and analysis of variance (ANOVA). With the analyzed results, we intended to understand the differences in performance of activities and their relationship to product designs, allowing us to understand the influence of the symbolic aspects in the perception of use. | |
