Abstract
Wireless networks in general are valuable technologies to develop and support applications in several areas, from environmental monitoring to social networks. Characteristics such as mobility and heterogeneity, both from the network as well as from the devices, present new challenges to communication protocols deployment. Our main goal is to design and implement protocols to provide basic security services in heterogeneous wireless networks, as well as Wireless Sensor Networks, given the software defined network paradigm.OpenFlow is a building block for this proposal and, to the best of our knowledge, is the first to consider these security services. Our goal is to include secure node admission control, confidentiality, data authenticity and integrity both for end users as well as OpenFlow devices. Therefore, we will provide a flexible solution, which eases the heterogeneous wireless networks adaptation to topology changes and to task reconfiguration, while assuring the associated security services.
