Abstract

One of the aims of the experimental program conducted with the LHC accelerator in Geneva-Switzerland, is to investigate a new phase of matter called Quark-Gluon Plasma whichlives for a very short time. One way to study it is byrelating the flow of the particles captured by the detectors with the geometry of the matter at the beginning of the collision, when the Quark-Gluon Plasma was present. For several years, there has been a collaboration on this subject between the Instituto de Fisica-USP (F. Grassi e F. Gardim -now at UNIFAL/MG) and CEA-Saclay (J.-Y. Ollitrault and M. Luzum -now at LBL/EUA). This collaboration now includes Drs. J. Noronha and J. Noronha-Hostler (both from USP). During Dr. Luzum's visit, we will discuss the effect of viscosity on the mapping initial conditions-observables. (AU)
