Abstract

The main focus of this Project is to promote the necessary infraestructure for research activities at IQ/UNESP, with the acquisition of médium and large equipments for multiusers. Radionality, optimization and efficacy shall be certainly achieved through shared use, and is based on the academic history of the Institute of Chemistry, which has a positive impacto n the formation of qualified human resources at graduation and post-graduation levels as well as on the scientific production level. This Project involves two post-graduate programs (chemistry and biotechnology) and several research groups, and aims the acquisition of a system for structural analysis based on X-ray scattering at small angle (SAXS), elemental chemical analysis, a vibrational spectroscopy (Raman spectroscopy) to be coupled to the FTIR equipment previously acquired, and a gas chromatograph coupled to mass spectrometry equipment (GC-MS). The acquisition of such modern equipments aims to complete the instrumental basis existing at IQ/UNESP, for quail and quantitative structural analysis of synthetic or natural/ organic / mineral compounds. Modernization of the infraestructure of UNESP shall result in new impulse for the University and relevant scientific-technological as well as environmental, economic and social impacts, and in this contexto, the importance of strengthening o four post-graduate programs as well as valorization of human resources formation is evidenced. Modern equipments are available at the Institute of Chemistry for the development of high quality research in chemistry and associated areas of knowledge (described at www.iq.unesp.br) and the new equipments will contribute to reach optimized levels aligned to excelente research centers worldwide.
