Impact of information available in the portal Evidence-Based Health to the clinical practice of health professionals from the State of Sao Paulo

Abstract

The Brazilian Ministry of Health invests approximately R$ 20 million yearly to keep the portal Health Based on Evidence open to all health professionals in Brazil. This project aims to analyze the impact of the information available in this portal to the clinical practice of health professionals in the State of São Paulo. A set of 144 messages, with information extracted from the portal, will be sent during a period of 48 weeks to a sample of 2363 health professionals working in SUS, in the State of São Paulo. Each piece of information will be assessed by professionals by means of an instrument specifically developed for such assessment. The results of this study will allow a better design of public policies on health information, health education, and health communication. They will also bring elements to guide the purchase and/or production of informational resources compatible with informational needs of professionals working in SUS. (AU)
