Abstract

In the countries as Brazil, the violence has configured as the most important public health problems because of the increase register of the death rates from external causes in the last 30 years, in especial because of violence (homicides) and accidents.Despite the poor accuracy of the data available, there is a consensus between researchers that the population groups are more vulnerable to violence are children, young until 24 years old, the elderly, women, people with mental disorders and disabilities. Violence against women has also been seen as a public health of problems given her association of mental health problems, since have estimated mortality rate, among women aged 15 to 44 years, upper the numbers of cancer, Thus, this objective of this work is investigating the possible relationship between personality factors and cognitive performance in two different groups. Experimental Group: composed 40 women victims of domestic violence coming of the Assistance to Women of Policy Department of ABC Region and São Paulo City. Control Group: composed 40 women coming of municipalities from ABC Regions and São Paulo city less domestic violence history. (AU)
