Abstract

The concept about organizational knowledge that is able to generate competitive advantage through innovative activity is quite consolidated in academic and corporate worlds. However, the publications on the subject neglect discussion of organizational factors that support Knowledge Management (KM) and the implications of these factors in relation to organizational innovative activity. Given that these factors are developed internally and quite unique to each organization, and yet they influence directly the GC process, it can be said that companies have consequently distinct capabilities to build intellectual capital that encloses innovation. Thus, the main objective of this research is to establish a taxonomy that characterizes distinct groups in relation to the KM practice, determining the implications of these characteristics on dynamic and innovative capability in the automotive and capital goods in automotive and capital goods sector companies. Also part of the scope of the search description of organizational best practices around each identified factor. To achieve this research combines quantitative approach involves multivariate data analysis and qualitative in relation to the description of the best practices by case study. (AU)
