Abstract

This research seeks to analyze the role and the contribution of the automotive chain to the development of solutions based in integrated transport modals as an alternative to the use of the automobile in big urban Brazilian cities. It will be made based on the analysis of international benchmarkings, adequate literature review and also based on primary data and interviews developed both in Brazil and in other countries. The objective is to identify the role of assemblers and other first tier companies and their possible partnership with public and private institutions in order to make those initiatives feasible. The understanding of the critical success factors in successful initiatives shall contribute with the development of efficient solutions integrating technological, organizational and business management issues linked to urban mobility.
