Abstract

The light and fluorescence microscope with video camera for image capture e with the software newCAST is specific for biological studies in stereology. The equipment can be used for general analyses in morphology, organ histology and cellular biology. The coupling of microscope to a computer for image capture and with the software newCAST permit tridimensional quantitative studies of anatomical structures obtained from bidimensional histological sections. As a result the quantitative composition of organ tissues and cells can be knowing with immediate application in the improvement of pathological diagnostics. (AU)
