This project examines the role of monopoly capital and the forms of social resistance in Brazilian medium-sized cities. The empirical basis are medium-sized cities with different characteristics (product, market, land structure, forms of production and social resistance): São José do Rio Preto, Dourados, Mossoró e Chapecó.
