Abstract

Micro-reactors offer a whole series of advantages such as high surface to volume ratios and low Reynolds number (laminar flow), which may become possible the study, that is not possible to develop in the ordinary reactors, of new pharmaceutical and fine chemical routes, as a tool to organic synthesis and intensive chemical processes. For instance, it can be optimized the selectivity (Yoshida et al, 2005) and the bioreactors mixing (Li et al, 2008), and to test new pharmaceuticals (Roberge et al, 2005). The mixing phenomena should be well comprehended by using these new microconfigurations (Aoki et al, 2004; Bothe et al, 2008; Amador et al, 2008). These different applications of microreactors and microfluidics point out to a multiuser network. The objective of the present work is to comprehend the concept of microreactor. After the concept of microreactor is well comprehended, some new microreactors will be constructed using national materials, which can reproduce the same results that was obtained before. (AU)
