Abstract

The aim of this project is to investigate the effects of strength training (plyometric method), vascular occlusion on the strength and speed performance in young adults. The proposal is to investigate thirty males aged between 20 and 30 years, divided into two groups, one group undergoing strength training and the second group the strength training with vascular occlusion. The subjects will be submit to twelve weeks of work, which first focused on learning the movement, while the second, seventh and twelfth week will be dedicate to tests and the other to the training program. In order to investigate the motor performance before, during and after the training program, will be used ratings: anthropometry and body composition; vertical jump and standing long jump out of the stop position; speed cyclic-acyclic test; central and periferic fatigue; maximal dynamic strength and muscle damage indicators. All results obtained in this study will be analyze by using the software SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) for Windows®, version17.0. Data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and tests of Two Way ANOVA and Tukey-Kramer test for comparison between groups and repeated measures ANOVA for comparisons between different times for each group. The significance level is 5%. (AU)
