Abstract

The equipment is a capillary electrophoresis platform for proteins and nucleic acids, and will be used for quantification and determination of the molecular weight of proteins (14kDa to 200 kDa), to determine the purity profile, glycosylation profile, and the purity and fragmentation of antibodies, as well as the separation and quantification of DNA and RNA. The advanced technology of this equipment eliminates the need for SDS-PAGE gels, providing superior results, saving time and money, thus extremely needed for the development of this and other projects of this group of researchers, as well as other researchers from FCFRP-USP. Given the variability of features offered, this would be a multi-user equipment, and its acquisition is justified given the demand of the unit projects in areas that use the determinations offered by the same. The demand caused by this project associated with the need to use methods with higher accuracy as that offered by such equipment, as well as the emphasis of this project on the molecular biology fully justifies the purchase of this equipment.
