Abstract

The primary research objective of this project is to explore new possibilities for applications of Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy (SECM) to the study of transport of molecules in biological systems. The proposed scientific activity will focus on: 1) Studies on transport of substances in tooth samples and cell membranes, 2) SECM studies of biological systems to investigate the role of mitochondria on the respiration process. Besides the cooperation in research activities with my group, Dr, Denuault will be available to give seminars and short courses in São Paulo (USP), Campinas (UNICAMP), São Carlos (USP and UFSCar) and Araraquara (UNESP).
