Abstract

The contribution of forage legumes for livestock production is a path toward sustainability of agricultural systems. P and Ca, nutrients that act in root development, nodulation and metabolism of plants. Thus this research will aim to evaluate the effect of levels combinations of P and Ca in legume establishment and growth Macrotyloma axillare NO 279. The experiment will be installed in the greenhouse with soil from the area of Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu. The experimental design is randomized blocks with four replications. Treatments correspond to five levels of phosphorus (0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 mg dm-3) and five doses of calcium (0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 mg dm-3) combined in a study of response surface based on central composite design modified from a 52 factorial incomplete. This way will be used 13 combinations of the levels of P and Ca in mg dm-3: 0-0; 0-40; 0-80; 15-20; 15-60; 30-0; 30-40; 30-80; 45-20; 45-60; 60-0; 60-40 and 60-80. The nutritional and productive characteristics of the macrotiloma legume will be evaluated. The results will be submitted to analysis of variance for combinations of P and Ca, and the significance occurring in the F test for Ca x P interactions, will make-up the study of polynomial regression. When this interaction is not significant the regression study of first and second degree for the effect of Ca and P levels alone. (AU)
