Abstract

This Plan of Research has three connected aspects: 1) a deeper investigation about the relations between memory and historic trauma in the Brazilian contemporary narrative, which are also the object of a Project led by University of Lyon and USP, specially by meetings with the researchers from the Department of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature and by consultations of the Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros's and FFLCH's libraries; 2) an investigation about critic reception of Kafka's works in Brazil - an author who is an important reference to the study of relations between historic trauma, memory and fiction - as well as an investigation about the presence of his works in contemporary Brazilian fiction, mainly in Bernardo Kucinski's narratives, and in the Sebastião Salgado's photographic works; 3) consultations of audio-visuals documents and iconography related at the period 1964-1985 in the history of Brazil, which are barely accessible in France.
