Syrup and wine quality from provisioned cut sugarcane and with diferents raw material impuritys

Abstract

With harvest system changes from burned to green cane there was the adoption of mechanization, which increased vegetable impurity and changes sugarcane provisioned for industrial process. To reduce harvest cost there was idealized, for many industrial units, the "hit and back" system that decrease the trucks lead time on sugar industry. This project aim to check the action of raw material on sugar and ethanol quality for two issues: time to process provisioned cut sugarcane that came from "hit and back" system and effect of different raw material impurity addition on final products quality. For the first study, sugarcane will be harvest and transport to Santa Fé Sugar Mills (Nova Europa-SP). Sugarcane will be processed with zero time (as soon as sugarcane arrives), 6, 12 and 24h after, whereby the sugar mill. Harvest will be made on May, August and November, and two years to simulation beginning, middle and final season effects. Another study will be simultaneously conduct with vegetable impurity addiction: control treatment (clean stalks), 3, 6, 9 e 12% the total impurities (green leaves, tops and straw) with clean stalks of two varieties and two harvest periods (July and October) on 2015/2016 e 2016/2017 crop season. Will be measured cane juice quality and production of clarified juice and syrup and quality after this process. For ethanol production the quality of mash, fermentative process, microbiogical analysis and wine will be tested. The Project relevance is high because of little information available about the two subjects. The storage study could be important to sugar mill define how many time sugarcane can lead to be processed without losing quality significantly. And could know more about vegetable impurities added on sugar and ethanol process. (AU)
