Abstract
We propose an international collaborative research visit by Dr. Thomas Rivinius (European Southern Observatory, ESO/Chile) to the Universidade de São Paulo to strengthen and enhance the ongoing collaboration between him and Prof. Carciofi's research group (BeACoN) at the Departamento de Astronomia. During this visit we will finish writing a paper about the pre-periastron phase of the Be star delta Sco and will work on finding suitable test-cases of binary Be stars for testing our hydrodynamic model predictions for the interaction of a circumprimary Be disk with a secondary star. Dr. Rivinius will also present mini-tutorials on BRUCE, a fast and high-parallelized code for spectral synthesis of rotating stars, and on MESA, an open-source code for stellar evolution. Both codes will be very important assets for the Prof. Carciofi's group. Finally, another important goal of the visit is to enable a one-to-one interaction of Dr. Rivinius with the students and post-docs, during which their respective research will be discussed. (AU)
