Abstract

This research aims at identifying and analysing patterns of intervention of the judicial system in political conflicts related to the urban protests which took place in Brazil since June 2013. To do so, the research will investigate the perceptions and practices of lawyers, judges, public prosecutors, police officers and militants related to protests and their criminal judicialization. It will also investigate the judicial practices verifiable at judicial actions and related documents. The research will colect data from interviews with lawyers, judges, public prosecutors, police officers and militants, observation of protests, and documental and content analysis of judicial actions, specialized publications and political documents.
