Abstract

Considering a) the need for investment in alternative kinds of Justice which are not only punitive justice; b) the successful usage of restorative justice (RJ) for the promotion of a peace culture and to reduce the judicialization of conflicts at school and crime levels in this context; c) the focus on ways of resolving conflicts which lead to relational shared responsibility; d) the importance of a high quality training process in restorative practices to the success of its use; e) the few studies which have focused on critical analysis of the training processes of facilitators in restorative practices; and f) the importance of the study in these training processes for the development of resources, tools and relational technologies that can be exported to other contexts, the aim of this study is to understand the meanings produced on the participation in the process of training in facilitation of restorative practices from discursive practices of its participants. To this end, the participants of a training process in restorative practices in Ribeirão Preto will be interviewed. From the social constructionist perspective this material will be analyzed for the delimitation of themes and sub-themes which allow the analysis of the different senses on this participatory process. It is expected that this study will allow the assessment of the potential and limits of necessary changes in this model of training, and it cooperates for the formatation of simplified models and spreadable training in restorative practices and that it encourages new actions for the training of facilitators of restorative practices in this and other contexts. And, finally, in its interventional characteristic, it is expected that could generate instruments for strengthening RJ in Ribeirão Preto. (AU)
