Abstract
This volume brings together essays resulting from studies and graduate courses taught in master programs and specializations, over almost a decade, about old age and aging. A politics of resistance to the contemporary discourses based on aging with "quality of life" to an "active aging" is throughout these writings. The multiplicity of modes of aging and experiencing old age is stressed, and the texts assembled here are guided by the problem of old age power as an artwork. For the development of the problem, the philosophies of Nietzsche, Foucault, Deleuze and Guattari and poetic literature of Hilda Hilst and Manoel de Barros are used. We hope that this study may contribute to the areas of knowledge of social sciences and gerontology shaking the disciplinary boundaries of the old age studies. (AU)
