Lignin degradation on this sugarcane bagasse through decomposers fungus targeting the production of a solid biofuel with high calorific value

Abstract

Waste from industries producing alcohol and sugar arrive in reaching prospects bagasse sugarcane bagasse 280 kg/tonne of cane sugar, causing a significant impact on the environment and are harmful to public health. Brazil is now the largest producer of cane sugar in the world, with a production at 589 million tonnes of 2012/2013 harvest, with most of this culture is found in the state of São Paulo. Currently Brazil has difficulty generating enough to be distributed to nationwide energy, generating a significant socioeconomic impact. The objective of this project is to perform a thermal study of the crushed cane sugar cultivation after one lignin decomposing fungi, the basidiomycete Pleurotus sp. This fungi work in the bioconversion of lignocellulosic wastes through the decomposition of the solid substrate. The dried and pyrolyzed samples will be characterized in terms of thermo-gravimetric (TG), differential thermogravimetric (DTG), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), where studies of calorific value, enthalpy and activation energy will be realized. Morphological analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is of paramount importance to check possible changes in the physical structure. Other analyzes such as X- ray diffraction, elemental analysis and thermoporometry, submit the physicochemical aspects after a change that is likely to occur, the substrate used in the cultivation of these fungi. Analyzes for lignin, holocellulose, hemicellulose, fixed carbon and ash content shall be held. (AU)
