Abstract

Despite significant advances in Brazilian agriculture, logistics costs especially with transport and storage, remain the main barriers that limit the potential of Brazilian agribusiness. The aim of this proposal is to develop a performance assessments evaluation system capable to determine and assess the relative efficiency of export logistics of soybeans process using an application of data envelopment analysis (Data Envelopment Analysis - DEA). Therefore, the proposed research intends to assess the main logistics route in order to establish performance indicators to compare efficiency between different logistics options for the transportation of soybeans. It is expected, at first, to evaluate the performance of the logistics export process that incorporates not only economic variables, in this case combines three different dimensions: operational, economic and environmental. And, secondly, to fetch a form of periodic systematization of this performance measure for such a system can be used a support tool to decision-sector policies. (AU)
