Abstract

The use of minimum cultivation as main system for eucalyptus soil tillage, holds large amounts of harvest crop residues on the soil, which directly affects the action of herbicides applied pre-emergence for the weed control. The objective of this research is to evaluate the dynamics of herbicides (flumioxazin, sulfentrazone, isoxaflutole and clomazone) and its effects on weed control when applied on the eucalyptus harvest residue and evaluate the availability of sulfentrazone in different soil and residue management and the eucalyptus selectivity. Experiments will be carried out to evaluate the herbicides release when applied on different amounts and mixtures of eucalyptusfor diferentes simulated rain (0; 10; 20; 35; 50 and 100 mm). The herbicides concentrations in the solution collected after the each will be determined by a LC-MS / MS system. The herbicides release curves from residue to soil will be determined. Experiments will be conducted to assess the weed control efficacy in the presence of the eucalytus residues and simulated rain. For sulfentrazone, due to its special features as the selectivity for eucalyptus, field experiments will be installed for different application conditions and will be assessed the availability in the soil, the weed control and phytotoxicity for different eucalyptus clones.
