LOCAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION SYSTEMS EMBRYOS: MAPPING, CHARACTERIZATION AND THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE INNOVATION SOURCES

Abstract

This proposal aims to study the distribution and concentration of agricultural production in the State of Sao Paulo, identify productive settlements, enclose them geographically, and rank them according to their regional and sectorial relevance. Supported by primary and secondary sources, the comparative advantages that have led to the emergence of "embryo of local production systems" in regions less developed investigated as well as the role, operation and relationship between actors in the institutional framework of ST&I and agents agricultural production to observe the occurrence of interaction between these sources of innovation. Therefore, specialization and concentration of agricultural production in the regions will be evaluate, respectively, by calculating the Location Quotient (QL) and Locational Gini (GL) of agricultural products using variables related to the value of production in the 65 micro-regions the state and the results classified into adapted typology studies in industrial economics for Embryo of Local Agricultural Production Systems. The characterization of these systems will be address through surveys on the structure of production and agricultural ST&I from consulting secondary data, conducting 18 interviews, and application 180 structured questionnaires in 03 geographic micro-regions. The analysis is performer by using descriptive techniques, multivariate statistics, and qualitative analysis. (AU)
