Abstract

This Project (total of R$ 5.799.842,00) will be used mainly to initiate the installation of four main integrated Instrumentation Laboratories serving the whole institute (Electronics, Mechanics, Calibration, and Optics), which are important to assure a more effective participation of IAG in large multinational projects. The four main Labs correspond to 46% of the total available reserve for 2015. The infrastructure of several other more specific labs (Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sci., which also operate as "multi-user" labs) will also be strengthened (33% of the Technical Reserve). This will help consolidate the IAG 's leadership in all its areas of expertise. The remaining funds will be used to finish the upgrade of the informatics network to Gigabit speed (19%), improving conservation of the Library materials and renovating the IAG webpage portal (2%).
