Abstract

Within a large research program from the Department of Parasitology of the Universidade de São Paulo in Rondônia, it is planned to converge efforts on the apraisal of the genetic variability of several samples representing the populations from Rondônia, mainly the variability associated with the following endemic infectious diseases: leishmaniasis, leprosy, tuberculosis and malaria. These sstudies will be conducted by applying statistic-epidemiological methodology. The genetic variability will be ascertained through immunological, biochemical and molecular technology. (AU)
