Abstract

The Teaching and Research Institute of the Barretos Cancer Hospital consists of three functional areas: 1) An exclusively dedicated to the teaching and research activities, with library, epidemiology and statistics services, cancer registry, telemedicine, Medical and Multiprofessional Residency Committees, Ethics Committee on Research, lecture auditoriums, study rooms and Office of Projects and Technological Innovation; 2) Another area composed of the Molecular Oncology Research Center with a very modern research laboratory with the latest equipment for development projects using the most sophisticated techniques of pathology and molecular biology, and; 3) Another part aimed to the dissemination of knowledge and culture, where is located at the Cancer Education Center, a equipped studio with trained professionals to assist the use of it, the Department of Events that assist the organization and execution of institutional academic meetings and congresses and a team designed to scientific documentation.The Teaching and Research Institute of the Barretos Cancer Hospital has the objective of disseminating knowledge, offering an appropriate collective framework for expanding access to information in a multiprofessional context.Having said that, we request the acquisition of six complete computers to be incorporated into the Library collection at the Teaching and Research Institute and also to purchase academic books which will be available to all researchers and collaborators for the research and dissemination of multiprofessional knowledge.
