Abstract

The uncontrolled growth of aquatic weeds affect the multiple uses of water and among the management options, chemical control has been studied because of its practicality, efficiency control, cost / benefit and vast history of use in other countries. However, the use of chemical control in aquatic environments is questionable due to the direct use, impairment of ecotoxicological studies and environmental monitoring. Therefore, the objectives of this research project are: to evaluate the effectiveness of herbicides penoxulam, saflufenacil, imazamox and diquat in the control of submerged plants Ceratophyllum demersum, Egeria densa, Egeria najas and Hydrilla verticillata in laboratory conditions and mesocosms and estimate acute toxicity to biomarkers Hyphessobrycon eques, Pomacea canaliculata, Lemna minor and Azolla caroliniana.
