Abstract

The aim of this project is the improvement of IMECC information systems, which are currently outdated and do not adequately meet the requirements of the professors, researchers and graduate students of the institute. The project includes the expansion of the wireless network, the increase of our data storage capacity, the creation of a redundant firewall and the update of computer equipment of a laboratory for graduate students. Besides, it complements Unicamp efforts to complete the building that will host IMECC research laboratories, whose brickwork has already been performed, but that still lacks adequate facilities and interior finishing. The resources of this project will join the R$ 1.7 million already allocated by the university to the installation of floors, electricity, hydraulics etc in our research labs building, and will cover the expenses that are not essential for the occupation of the building, but are useful for the full operation of laboratories, such as the installation of the logical network, the acquisition of computers, multimedia and safety equipment, and air conditioning for the rooms.The project also includes some improvements on the IMECC main building, such as the expansion of the wireless network, the increase of our data storage capacity, the creation of a redundant firewall and the update of computer equipment of a laboratory for graduate students.
