Abstract

This project contributes to an ongoing research effort of combining the wavelet-based multiresolution regularity detection methodology with other non-linear techniques in order to improve the multiscale magnetohydrodynamics simulations and related data. The purpose is to provide very useful numerical tools for applications of studies on non-linear local instabilities that occur in plasmas of astrophysics and space geophysics environments. As an overarching branch, this long-term challenge implies the development of innovative and computational efficient non-linear techniques. With this project, we propose to study, develop, implement, test, verify and document new tools in numerical simulations and data modelling applied to these areas of space plasmas.
