Abstract

This research project focuses on supporting several activities over Brazil of the recently established LIDAR network LALINET in relation to the recently approved project APEL (Assessment of atmospheric optical Properties during biomass burning Events and Long-range transport of desert dust) funded by the European Aerosol Agency. This proposal is planned to contribute to LALINET and APEL ESA-project at several levels. On one hand, it will contribute to maintain the dataset of aerosol profiling which has been routinely collected over several Brazilian LIDAR stations and also to initiate a new intensive dataset for the specific period August-September 2016(intensive pre-project field campaign).
