Abstract

The purpose of this work is development and evaluation of a film precursor composition in situ containing anesthetic for the treatment of herpes simplex. The rational of this study involves the pharmacological actions assigned to anesthetics, which would be: minimize or avoid the inflammatory process, act in the fight against herpes and in cases of herpetic wound reduce bacterial contamination. The gel form of the compositions acting as the precursor of the in situ film-forming system facilitates the application, while the film subsequently formed favors the maintenance of formulation on site, promoting final aspect more discreet and noninvasive, when compared to the currently available options. The formulation developed will be characterized physical and physico-chemically. In vitro studies will be carried out, among them, the evaluation of the profile of the release of drugs and passive permeation studies, with the aim of ensuring that the formulations having the characteristics appropriate and also, will developed in vitro biological assays (cytotoxicity, inhibition of viral multiplication) and pre-clinical (in vivo) of effectiveness of compositions. It is expected that in the time established for the conduct of this proposal scientific articles will be published in national and international journals will be made presentations at meetings of scientific character, in addition to the possibility of technological advance through the deposit of patent application and the generation of knowledge.
